Center for Law, Energy & the Environment (CLEE)

admin

The Center for Law, Energy & the Environment (CLEE) is the new name for Berkeley Law’s environmental and energy law-focused research center, formerly the California Center for Environmental Law & Policy (CCELP).

CLEE’s mission is to foster interdisciplinary environmental and energy law and policy research and to translate that research into public policy solutions. Berkeley Law has a unique history of involvement by students and faculty in environmental issues, including publication of the nation’s leading environmental law journal, the Ecology Law Quarterly.

The research center and environmental law program continue to expand, with additional courses, and a series of events and conferences on environmental, natural resource and energy issues. CLEE brings together the resources of Berkeley Law with the rich array of environmental talent on the U.C. Berkeley campus and throughout the Bay Area.
